Care: Wear more, wash less. Machine washable. The best way to keep this fabric in shape is to wash it inside out. To prevent any slight shrinking, air dry or dry on a low setting. Rather than washing/dry cleaning your sweaters, consider using a non-toxic sweater spray to freshen and deodorize between wears. The easiest way to keep them looking fresh is to use a sweater stone or shaver to remove the pills. Note: Keep in mind all sweaters pill, no matter what.
Made in: Peru
B | Moderate
Incorporates renewable materials or low-impact practices but lacks complete traceability or full optimization in sourcing and production.
Landfill time: Modal / TENCEL™ Modal portions: ~6 weeks to 1 year in ideal conditions (can take up to 20 years in low-oxygen environments).
Recycled Polyester / Spandex portions: 20–200 years depending on soil oxygen levels and fiber finish.
What We Love:
TENCEL™ Modal is produced in a closed-loop system, recycling over 99% of water and solvents.
Recycled polyester lowers dependence on virgin petroleum-based synthetics.
Manufactured in Peru, where we have deeper supply chain traceability and oversight.
Fabric scraps are repurposed into mops, mattress fillers, and rags, supporting local circularity.
Modal offers a silky drape, softness, and breathability ideal for elevated essentials.
What We Don't Love:
Spandex and polyester are synthetic polymers that contribute to microplastic pollution and long landfill lifespans.
Modal, while less harmful than viscose, still requires chemical processing and energy.
Blending semi-synthetics and synthetics complicates recycling and post-consumer solutions.
Lacks organic or regenerative certifications for any fiber inputs.
