Incorporates renewable materials or low-impact practices but lacks complete traceability or full optimization in sourcing and production.
Landfill time: Cotton Portion: Biodegradable within ~3–12 months.
Modal & Rayon Portions: Biodegradable within ~4–8 months under optimal conditions, but slower in low-oxygen environments.
Synthetic Portion (Spandex/Nylon/Polyester/Acrylic): 20–200 years, depending on soil oxygen levels.
What We Love:
Local "seed-to-garment" approach significantly reduces carbon footprint.
Naturally soft, durable, and fully biodegradable (cotton portion).
Fabric scraps from cutting are bundled and re-purposed into mops, rags, and mattress fillers, ensuring a circular supply chain.
Pima requires 50% less water than conventional cotton; naturally drought tolerant.
Synthetics (spandex, nylon) improve stretch, fit, and shape retention
What We Don't Love:
Not organic — Pima cotton may still involve chemical fertilizers or pesticides.
Synthetic components (spandex, nylon, modal, rayon) do not biodegrade and persist in landfills for decades.
These materials shed microplastics and cannot be composted or easily recycled.
Blending natural and synthetic fibers complicates end-of-life processing, making circularity more difficult.
